Mongolian Languages
Mongolian is the official language of Mongolia and a member of the Mongolic language family.
It can be written using three different scripts: Mongolian script (normally used in Inner Mongolia in China), Clear script (used by Oirats in China) and the Cyrillic script elsewhere in Mongolia.
An interesting Mongolian tradition is giving off-putting names to children in the hope of warding off evil spirits trying to steal the child. Examples include: Muunokhoi (Vicious Dog), Nergüi (No Name), Khünbish (Not A Human Being), Khenbish (Nobody) and Enebish (Not This One).
